Trend edit: Big dials, thin strap watches

An appetite for watches with large faces and thin straps has been on the rise in recent years, offering a stylish compromise between the big and bold and the small and delicate.

The result in some instances can be very striking, and provides an ideal wrist wear option for those looking for a watch that will easily let them transition between day and evening attire.

At Michel Herbelin we have taken a more subtle take on the trend, with a number of our models offering a thinner strap to allow focus to lie on the beautifully constructed dial. Our watches still keep practicality high however, with the strap remaining good quality and of the highest comfort level possible. With a thinner strap freeing up wrist space, this particular type of watch is also the ideal choice for wrist stacking, allowing you to combine your favourite wrist watch and jewellery for some eye catching stylish looks.

Here’s a look at some of our big dial, thin strap watches.

Black PVD Treated Steel Newport Yacht Club Watch £670

With a substantial 42mm black case, one of Michel Herbelin’s freshest designs allows all eyes to be focused on the striking dial. Indexes and hands are treated in a luminous material allowing the watch to be as practical at night as it is in the day, and chornograph sub dials are black with red hands- attention to detail is everything. Made with the active man in mind, the strap is padded allowing it to sit comfortably on the arm all day long.

Smaller, delicate straps make a watch all about the dial, and with the care, consideration and hard work put into constructing a watch dial at Michel Herbelin, it deserves to be shown off. Is this a trend for you?
